Our inn is located in a quiet corner of town between Daitoku-ji Temple, the head temple of the Rinzai sect's Daitoku-ji school, and Mount Funaoka, which was once temple land during the Edo period.

To the south of the inn is an elementary school, and sunlight filters through the trees into the second-floor rooms,

creating a gentle and peaceful atmosphere—perfect for those seeking a calm and quiet stay.

The inn is a certified historic Kyoto townhouse (Kyomachiya), recognized by the city.

The exposed beams on the second floor ceiling convey a sense of its long history. While preserving its traditional charm, the inn has been renovated

—especially the water facilities—to ensure a comfortable stay.

Daitoku-ji Temple is just a short walk away, and you can reach the front of Kinkaku-ji Temple in five minutes by bus.

The location also offers excellent access to northern Kyoto attractions such as Mount Daimonji and Koetsu-ji Temple.

We also recommend taking a stroll through the spacious grounds of Daitoku-ji early in the morning

when it’s quiet and uncrowded. Walking along the bamboo paths there feels like stepping into another world.
